Amend the following rule:

514. Topographic Mappa II
Keywords: [ Mappa ]
On The Mappa, each Space shall have an Elevation. The Elevation of a Space is a positive integer equal to the Height of the Tower built on it. Elevation is measured in units of Levels. A Space without a Tower has Elevation 0 (zero) Levels. A Space may only contain one Tower.

A Player who owns a Space can increase its Height by notification to the Forum. The Height of a Tower cannot be decreased.

At the beginning of each Turn, each Player who submitted one or more Votes the previous Turn shall gain the ability to increase the Elevation of one Space they own by one Level. If not used, this ability expires at the end of the Turn. No Player may increase the Height of a Space by more than two Levels in a single turn.

( 20030330: enacted [497] by Ouroboros)
( 20030413: amended [514] by Ouroboros)

Amend the following rule:

572. Monkey Knife Fight
Keywords: [ Points ]
Once every four turns, all players who have acted neither as a Judge nor a Justice, nor participated in a Tug of War, since the last Monkey Knife Fight (or since the institution of this rule, whichever is more recent) shall be entered into a Monkey Knife Fight.

A Monkey Knife Fight (referred to henceforth in this rule as an MKF) is a subgame in which each player engaged in the MKF selects one of four possible moves: Sit There, Suicide, Screech, or Stab. If a player does not enter a move, the default move is Sit There. The MKF is over after one round of such moves.

All players who Sit There and are not targeted by any Stabs get 6 points.

Any player who Suicides and is not Stabbed by anyone takes a penalty of 7 points. When a Suiciding player is Stabbed, however, the Stab penalty is prevented, the Stabbing player loses 5 points instead of getting their Stabbing bonus, and the Suiciding player gains 4 points instead of the Suicide penalty. (This bonus occurs only once per Suicide, e.g. it does not accumulate if multiple players Stab the Suiciding player.)

If a player plays a Screech and was the only player to do so in the current MKF, that player gains 6 points, any players Stabbing that player lose 2 points instead of gaining the Stab bonus, and the Stab penalty is prevented. If more than one player in the round plays a Screech, all Screechers each lose 3 points and Stabs at them are played as normal.

Stabs are directed at one other player engaged in the current MKF. If a player is Stabbed and that player did not play a Suicide (nor successfully play a Screech), the player who Stabbed that player gets a 7-point bonus. If more than one player Stabbed that player, each Stabber gets a 4-point bonus.

Players who are successfully Stabbed take a 3-point penalty. This penalty is also not cumulative - multiple Stabs result in only one penalty for the victim.

This rule takes precedence over all other rules concerning Monkey Knife Fights.

( 20030525: enacted [572] by misuba)

To read:

Once every four turns, all players who do not opt out (by contacting the Monkey Wrangler with their request to do so) shall be entered into a Monkey Knife Fight.

A Monkey Knife Fight (referred to henceforth in this rule as an MKF) is a subgame in which each player engaged in the MKF selects one of four possible moves: Sit There, Suicide, Screech, or Stab. If a player does not email the Monkey Wrangler with their move, the default move is Sit There. The MKF is over after one round of such moves. The last move sent to the Monkey Wrangler by a given player before the turn concludes will be that player's move.

The Monkey Wrangler is an Officer, initially selected by the administrator, responsible for collecting MKF moves and reporting on the results. The Monkey Wrangler may not engage in a Monkey Knife Fight. Whoever gains the most points in a MKF becomes Monkey Wrangler for the next MKF; in case of a tie, the current Monkey Wrangler chooses.

This rule takes precedence over all other rules concerning rule precedence. This rule has a Moxie rating of 99.

Each rule shall have associated with it a measure of Moxie. Valid Moxie ratings are positive integers less than 100.

Moxie ratings are used to determine which rule takes precedence in the case of rule conflict. The rule with the higher Moxie rating takes precedence. In case of a tie, other rules which determine precedence will apply.

For any rule where the Moxie rating is not explicitly stated, that rule shall be considered as if it had a Moxie rating of 10.

A Tower may be demolished by the Player who owns it. When demolished, Debris from the Tower falls onto the Mappa, covering Spaces in an orthagonal direction designated by the Player. The Debris of a demolished Tower will cover one Space for each two Levels of Height beyond the first (three Levels [minimum] falls on one Space; five Levels falls in a line two Spaces long; seven Levels, three Spaces; and so on).

Spaces covered by Debris become owned by the Player who owned the demolished Tower.
If any of those Spaces are owned by another Player, it is as if Space Theft were undertaken by the Player who demolished their Tower.
If a Wormhole occupied any Space onto which Debris fell, all Debris that would have fallen on or beyond that Wormhole are absorbed and have no effect.
If the Nomicow occupied any Space unto which Debris fell, it is moved to the next unoccupied Space along the direction the Tower Debris fell.

A Player who intends to demolish their Tower must announce their intent and the Space(s) the Tower Debris will fall upon. The Elevation of the Space the demolished Tower had occupied becomes 0 (zero). The Elevation of any Spaces covered by Debris from the demolished Tower becomes 0 (zero).
